Saturday 20 October 2018 is International Chef’s Day. A day to celebrate the hard work of chefs worldwide. We at Gault&Millau know how hard you all work. Running a restaurant is not easy and being back in the kitchen, most chefs do not know how their work and creativity is appreciated.

So – on (or around) Saturday 20 October 2018, we are encouraging guests to charge their glasses and say “cheers to the chef”! See T&Cs of the contest here.

“Cheers to the Chef” is an initiative of Gault&Millau Australia aimed to recognise the hard work of all of the chefs in Australia. We want everyone to raise a glass and propose a toast to their chef on, or around, Saturday 20 October and send their appreciation “back of house”.

We want you to help. From 5pm on Friday 19 October to 10pm on Sunday 21 October 2018, we encourage you to offer a special drinks offer – so guests can toast your chef. A “happy hour” discount on beer, champagne, wine and soft drink. And as our guests have to take a photograph, see if you can allocate a space with your name in it to make it easy to participate.
